Mike Wallace is a British/Hungarian artist living in Budapest. Born in Kenya, he grew up in Lusaka Zambia and was educated in the UK. Originally, he trained as an actor and worked in theatre before moving into the fitness industry. In 1999 he moved to Hungary to set up the country’s first fitness club chain going on to be the spa director for Europe’s largest health spa resort company. His paintings are inspired by life in Budapest on the Pest side, particularly the 8th District and panoramic Central European landscapes. His use of sharp colours and contrasting light is an influence from his years in Africa. This collection of paintings aims to lift, lighten and make the viewer both think and smile.
